Willy found Ferdinand in our backyard on Monday. He's a tiny guy...2-3 inch shell. He was really shy at first, like in this picture, but after a while seemed to get used to us. He had many names during his short time with us...Squeaky, Lettuce, Turtle. Ferdinand seemed to suit him. Anyway, I LOVE turtles, and as tempting as it was to keep him, I knew he had to go back. Yesterday, we placed him back in the backyard, near one of the paths to our little patch of forest. It will be henceforth known as Ferdinand's Forest. I hope he's ok, and that maybe he'll come back to visit one day.
